Spore
The problem is that Spore is the type of game that we need perspective on. In the afterglow of its release, it’s easy to say that Spore is genius or infuriating. One could validly say that its high concept design is marred by shallow gameplay or, conversely, that it breaks ground and the ground it breaks is Terra Incognito. (read more)
Keep Your Rules to Yourself
Last night I crushed countless Orcs in Warhammer: Battle March. Battle March is the Xbox 360 port of the PC game which is the digital version of a venerable tabletop strategy game. If I had to learn the rules for Warhammer, invest in all the figures, and then find someone to play against it would end up being more trouble than it’s worth. (read more)

Veep-hopeful Joe Biden was in town last night to court voters at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. I don’t know how many people can fit into the PBCCC, but I’m guessing it’s somewhat less than 58,500 people. (read more)

Piracy of video games is a $3 billion a year problem, according to the Entertainment Software Association.
